"Outgrowing" a genre of music(in my case Heavy Metal)?

I'm 37 years old.I'm a child of the 80's(THE BEST DECADE EVER!!).Anyway,when people ask me what I listen to,I always say:Motley Crue,Iron Maiden,and Warrant.People look at me bug-eyed.I always get"You still listen to that music"Or "They still around?"or my favorite one"I outgrew that a long time ago!".To me,a good song is a good song.I listen to all type of music.If I like it then,I should like it now.I just want to know what y'all think.Nothing ever going to change me(Well,my mullet but that another story).
