How difficult is it to PhD in math/physics! Request help from PhD holders plz!!?
Im a 16-year old Danish student. I have always liked physics, but after i entered high School my interest for physics and especially math have skyrocketed. I really like math and physics, and Can easily spend 6 hours a day voluntarily studing math. In my high School we are due to start on basic calculus in one year - heck, we havent even heard a single word about functions yet ;) despite this, i have learned myself Basic calculus and Can Set up simple differential-equations Describing for instance the change in salt concentration in a Lake based on different in and out-flows ... My math teachers thinks in very good in math, but - I have read versi places, that to make a conibution and to take a PhD in math/physics, you have to have a very high IQ, and be almos a child product .. Neither of those two apply to me :( my iq is only 126-130ish, and im nowhere close to a child progidy ... If i should even manage to get a PhD, i cant even imagine how i am supposed to write Scientific papers with useful and contributing content .. That deed is reserved for only the most brilliant of minds, which i am not :( Will i be able to PhD in math/physics and atleast write some contributing papers ? I want an honest answer plz, not just a "of course you Can, jud go for it" unless that is the truth :). Sorry for This way too coherent text, but im writing This on my iPad. I also want to apologise for any weird misspellings or mistyping, since it weird to write on an iPad ... :) thx a lot. I would really appciate if any of you masters/PhD holders could tell me your iq's? :)
