Amazing Military Trivia...Speaking English Required?

Do you realize that it is possible to become an officer in the USAF without being able to speak English? I never even knew this when I was commissioned. One of my old room mates told me about this. If you attend AC in Puerto Rico, you can graduate and be commissioned as a 2nd LT. I never would've believed it...but a blue-eyed blonde haired Puerto Rican Captain told me he taught in a program that took new USAF officers from that program and put them in an ESL program. Strange...but true.
